Established in 1987, Burnett Plumbing began life as a sole trader doing maintenance and domestic plumbing for new homes. Additional plumbers were employed as demand grew and by 2005, Burnett Plumbing comprised of 7 qualified plumbers and had expanded the range of services to include larger commercial jobs, such as the new Bunnings store in Grafton.
In 2005, the company purchased its first excavator and increased its capability to perform larger sewer main and council works. Further growth since then has seen the fleet increase to 12 excavators, ranging from 1.5-tonne to 25-tonne, as well as an additional attachment plant.
In 2007, the company branched into subdivision work and has since completed numerous projects in the local area including Lakeview Estate (Lyons Rd, Bonville), Sakura Estate (Loaders Lane, Coffs Harbour), Coffs Harbour City Council Park, Beach Residential Estate and the recently commenced Korora Haven Estate.
Burnett Civil expanded into rail maintenance in 2008 and won a contract to supply 2 x High Rail Mini Excavators and a High Rail Dumper to operate between Maitland in the South and Acacia Ridge in the North. This contract has since been renewed for a further 3 years, with another 2 High Rail Excavators purchased to meet maintenance demands.
Following the 2010 acquisition of Topcon GR3 Total Station, Burnett Civil became the leader in technological advancement for subdivision and large-scale earthworks in Coffs Harbour. This system allows Burnett Civil to have total control over all aspects of location and elevation throughout the duration of the project.
In 2011, Burnett Civil won the contract with Transport Express Joint Venture to complete 4 selected sections of curve easing on the main rail line to improve efficiency. These sections were among the TEJV most awarded sections of curves eased in several North Coast locations.
