Burnett Plumbing first commenced operations in 1987 as a sole trader plumber doing maintenance and domestic plumbing for new homes, but quickly grew to employ additional plumbers to keep up with the growing demand.
By 2005, Burnett Plumbing comprised of 7 plumbers and had expanded the range of plumbing services to include larger commercial jobs including the new Bunnings store in Grafton.
The company purchased its first excavator in 2005 increasing its capability to perform larger Sewer Main and Council works. Further growth since that time has seen the fleet increased to 12 excavators, ranging from 1.5 tonne to 25 tonne as well as additional attachment plant.
In 2007, the company branched into Sub Division work and has since completed numerous projects in the local area including: Lakeview Estate (Lyons Rd, Bonville); Sakura Estate (Loaders Lane, Coffs Harbour); Coffs Harbour City Council Park; Beach Residential Estate and recently commenced Korora Haven Estate.
Burnett Civil expanded into Rail maintenance in 2008 and won a contract to supply 2 x Hi Rail Mini Excavators and Hi Rail dumper to operate between Maitland in the south and Accacia Ridge in the north. This contract has been renewed for a further 3 years and another 2 High rail excavators have been purchased to keep up with the maintenance demands.
Following the 2010 acquisition of Topcon GR3 Total Station, Base and Rover, Burnett Civil became the leader in Technology advancement for Sub division and large scale earthworks in Coffs Harbour. This system allows Burnett Civil to have total control over all aspects of location and elevation throughout the total project.
In 2011 Burnett Civil won the contract with Transport Express Joint Venture to complete 4 selected sections of curve easing on the main rail line to improve efficiency. These sections were among the TEJV most awarded sections of curves eased in several North Coast locations.
While General Maintenance Plumbing is still an integral component of the business, the company's focus has shifted to larger, more challenging projects in the civil and commercial lines.
Today, Plant & Equipment is also hired to many larger projects in the region such as Leighton Fulton Hogan Sapphire to Woolgoolga Pacific Highway upgrade, Coffs Harbour City Council, Australian Rail and Track Corporation, Goldsprings Equipment, Transport Express Joint Venture.
